BIMSTEC Think Tanks meet in Kathmandu to boost regional tourism and culture

Focusing on the theme "Tourism, Culture, and People-to-People Contact," the meeting was organised by the Centre for Economic Development and Administration (CEDA) with the support of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Nepal.

KATHMANDU, June 2: The Seventh Meeting of the BIMSTEC Network of Policy Think Tanks (BNPTT) was held in Kathmandu on 30–31 May 2025, with participation from all member institutions of the network.

Focusing on the theme "Tourism, Culture, and People-to-People Contact," the meeting was organised by the Centre for Economic Development and Administration (CEDA) with the support of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Nepal.


Participants discussed the vast potential for cooperation in tourism and cultural exchange within the BIMSTEC region and explored ways these sectors can help foster stronger people-to-people ties. The meeting also underscored the importance of enhancing such connections to promote peace, mutual understanding, and shared prosperity across the Bay of Bengal region.
