The 25-year-old, Binay Kumar Yadav of Sinurjoda-1, Sohani, died on the spot after a truck (Ba 2 Kha 6130) rear-ended his motorcycle (Ja 3 Pa 8386) at around 3 pm.
Amod Prasad Paswan of Thera Kachuri-1, who had been riding pillion, was injured in the incident.
The injured has been undergoing treatment at Janakpur Zonal Hospital, police said.
Irate locals have set the truck on fire following the incident.
