BAITADI, April 20: Two big parties – Nepali Congress and CPN-UML – are facing tough time to select candidates for upcoming civic polls due to high number of aspirants for different posts in Baitadi. 

Parties' local leaders have admitted that they have not yet finalized the selection of candidates with the outpouring of aspirants for same position in municipalities and rural municipalities. 


Among the aspiring mayoral candidates from Nepali Congress, Gauri Rawal, Siddharaj Bhatta, Keshab Chand and Ramesh Koli are on limelight In Patan municipality. Likewise, Narendra Thapa, PN Lekhak, Bhimdutta Pandey and Lal Bahadur Chand are in the forefront from NC in Dasharathchand municipality.

Similarly, Prem Chand and Krishna Nayak are the potential mayoral candidates of Melauli municipality while Deepak Bam, Amar Bista and Dal Bahadur Bista are among others in publicity in Purchaudi municipality, according to NC Baitadi. 


Likewise, CPN-UML is likely to pick up one of the aspirants from among Lokendra Bista, Naresh BK and Chaman Bhandari,in Patan municipality as a mayoral candidate. In Dasharathchand municipality, Mahadev Bhatta, Devdutta Bhatta, Purna Dev Bhatta and Parbati Bhatta are in publicity from UML. 


Similarly, Karna Bahadur Kunwar and Harka Bahadur Dhanuk are most probable candidates of mayor in Purchaudi municipality. Sher Bahadur Chand, Kalu Chand, Laxman Bhatta, Bir Singh Bhatta, Baldev Pokharel, Gauri Bhatta and Jagadish Nayak are in limelight as mayoral candidates in Melauli municipality, shared UML publicity department deputy chief Sher Bahadur Chand. 


When NC and UML are busy nominating their candidates, the CPN (Maoist Centre) has selected its candidates in four municipalities and four rural municipalities in Baitadi district, it is learnt. RSS
