Sabir Subba, 21, living in G-3 of Sector- 1 was seriously injured, said the District Police Office, Jhapa.
He was shot on the chest and was taken to BPKIHS for treatment in Dharan in the night itself.
Although the bullet was brought out immediately, he is still not out of danger, said police.
Person involved in the incident is being searched for.
