BHOJPUR, Sept 9: Taksar Airport, the only one airport in Bhojpur, the district in Province 1, has not witnessed the flight for over the past one month.
Under this situation, hospital patients referred to the outside district, those in need of air travel to reach the central capital for emergency purposes, aged and physically weak people have been affected most.

According to Bhojpur District Hospital's doctor Shibaji Rijal, the hospital normally refers 12 patients on average to other areas having relatively well-equipped health facilities. "The motorable roads are in deteriorating condition and patients referred to other places have been bearing the brunt of airport closure," he said.
It has compelled some to charter a helicopter, while the poor patients are to languish with anguish.
The Nepal Airlines Corporation (NAC) Bhojpur has said the airport has been closed for the repair of a twin otter. It is to take two weeks more to complete the repair.
Bhojpur airport traffic controller senior officer Bijay Shrestha said the airport was used to five flights from Bhojpur to Kathmandu in a week except Sunday and Monday and the Biratnagar-Bhojpur flight in a week. RSS
