Bhojpur on alert after two kala-azar cases confirmed

BHOJPUR, Jan 3: After two kala-azar cases were confirmed in Bhojpur, the district has geared up to conduct awareness campaigns urging people to take precautions to prevent the life-threatening disease from spreading.

Two person from Arun Rural Municipality-2, Champe were found infected with the disease. On Tuesday, a special function was organized to make the locals aware about the ways to prevent the disease. The diseases is caused by bites from sandfly. It can be cured easily if identified on time.

The disease’s symptoms include fever, fatigue and lose of appetite among other things. But these symptoms become severe and the patient can die if not treated on time.
