Bhattarai says he quit party as Dahal didn’t mend his ways

PARBAT, Jan 4: Former UCPN (Maoist) leader Dr Baburam Bhattarai said that he quit the party as Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal didn't mend his ways.

Addressing a program in Parbat on Monday, Bhattarai said that he tried his best to change Dahal's perspective but no to avail. "I had asked Dahal to convert the present party to a new power but all my efforts fail," he said.Bhattarai also said that as Dahal failed to mend his ways he was left with no option but quit party.

"As suspected by many, the new political force is not for a power gain," he added, "The new political force will serve the public and country's interests."
