At a function held on Saturday, Ghamendra Jha, central president of the Federation of Nepali Journalists presented the award to Bhatta. The award carries a purse of Rs 10,000 and a copper plaque.
Bhatta was awarded for his contribution to society through local and national media for over a decade.
The award, established in memory of late journalist Bhandari by his wife Saraswati Bhandari, is presented every year.
