CHITWAN, July 2: Bharatpur Metropolitan City has honored former captain of the National Cricket Team, Sandeep Lamichhane.
Organizing a programme on Tuesday, the metropolis felicitated cricketer Lamichhane with Rs 100,000. Mayor Renu Dahal and Deputy-Mayor Chitra Sen Adhikari jointly honored Lamichhane.
On the occasion, Mayor Dahal expressed the view that such type of honor would encourage sportspersons, adding the metropolitan city has kept the programme of honoring athletes in priority.
The metropolis has been providing possible support to the sports sector including constructing stadiums, she mentioned.
Chairperson of the District Cricket Association, Sudip Piya lauded the role played by the metropolitan city for the development of the sports sector.
