KATHMANDU, Feb 25: Shree Bhagwati Club has become the second team to enter the next round from Group B as it defeated Madhyapur Youth Association 3-1 in the ongoing Martyr’s Memorial ‘B’ Division league on Sunday.

In its last Group B match, Shree Bhagwati entered the second round finishing in the second place behind Tusal Youth Club.

Shree Bhagwati took the lead in the seventh minute as Darshan Gurung scored, while it doubled its lead in the 62nd minute through Anil Rana Magar.

Three minutes later, Subarna Bikram Karki cut the deficit for Madhyapur.

Shree Bhagwati scored its third goal as Gurung completed his brace in the injury time.

Wit the win, Shree Bhagwati has 10 points from five games and is fixed to reach the second round as the third-placed Pulchowk Sports Club has played five games already and has seven points. Tusal, from five games, has 11 points.

In the Group A match played on the same day, Boys Union defeated Shree Kumari Club 1-0 stopping the team from entering the next round, while it finished fifth on five points.

A win for Shree Kumari would have pushed the club to the top of the table, but a loss meant its chances are over to go to the next round.

Pradip Bogati’s 17th minute strike sealed a win for Shree Kumari.

RCT and Jhamsikhel, both playing five games each, have eight points each, and if Satdobato Youth Club defeats Nayabasti Youth Club, it will eclipse Jhamsikhel and could even go higher with a win with two or more goals.
