KATHMANDU, July 15: CPN-UML’s National Assembly member Bhagwati Neupane has been appointed as the new Minister for Federal Affairs and General Administration.
President Ram Chandra Paudel appointed Neupane on the recommendation of Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli following the resignation of former minister Rajkumar Gupta earlier the same day. Gupta stepped down after an audio clip surfaced allegedly implicating him in a Rs 7.8 million bribery deal.

The appointment was made under Article 76 (9) of the Constitution, according to a statement from the Office of the President.
