MELAMCHI, July 25: At a time when incessant rain has massively caused loss of lives and properties across the country, Barhabise municipality has cautioned its subordinate bodies of imminent threats of floods and landslides.
The municipality which has been frequently battered hit hard by the Bhotekoshi flood every year has placed cautionary measure to prevent possible loss and damages.

A meeting of the municipality's disaster management committee has decided to keep its all subordinate bodies on high alert with rescue and relief equipment and materials, shared Barhabise municipality mayor Nim Phunjo Sherpa.
He informed that necessary coordination has been made with government agencies, including Madhyabhotekoshi hydropower project and Division Road Office to put in place emergency arrangements and preparation to make transport operation smooth in view of the vehicular disruption caused by floods and landslides.
"For emergency rescue and relief, two ambulances, three excavators, one loader, one JCV and three tippers, among other equipment, have been kept standby", Sherpa added.
These equipments could be instantly used for rescuing people in disaster-hit areas, he shared. The municipality has also arranged medicines, tent, food, clothes and other needy relief materials in keeping with possible incidents of floods and landslides.
