Bar Association urge for timely constitution writing

KATHMANDU, Jan 4: Nepal Bar Association (NBA) on Monday began a campaign to pressurize the Constituent Assembly (CA) to complete the constitution writing process in time.



The lawyers began a rally from their central office at Ram Shah Path to the CA building in New Baneshwar on Monday afternoon. “We will sit-in in front of the CA building so to extort pressure on CA members,” Sabita Bhandari, the treasurer of NBA, said.



Lately, the civil society is conducting programs urging the CA members to complete the constitution writing in the designated time. According to the CA calendar, the constitution would be promulgated on May 28 but many parties and leaders have expressed doubts on the time frame.
