SARLAHI, Dec 25: A Bangladeshi national has been arrested on the charge of obtaining a citizenship certificate by descent from the District Administration Office, Sarlahi by providing fake documents.
According to the District Police Office, Sarlahi Mohammed Belal Hussain has been arrested for obtaining citizenship posing Mohammed Rakutub Hussain as his father through fake documents.
Police said that they are investigating the case after remanding him to judicial custody by the District Court. Belal made his citizenship certificate from District Administration Office on April 19, 2003.
Belal, who had even gone to UAE after making passport from Sarlahi, was arrested from International Airport on October 1 this year. The Department of Immigration had arrested him while he was returning from UAE. He then had served two months jail term for carrying fake passport that was made through the fake citizenship.
He was then, brought to Sarlahi for further investigation into the fake citizenship case, police said.
Those who helped him to make citizenship through fake documents are also being searched and investigated. He had given millions of rupees to the employees for making citizenship certificate through the fake documents, it is learnt.
