Bandits injure family members as they loot goods worth Rs. 1 million

MAHOTTARI, Sept 8: Five people were injured from bullet shrapnel shot by a group of around 15 armed bandits that looted goods worth Rs. 1 million at around 11:30 PM yesterday night, according to the District Police Office.

MAHOTTARI, Sept 8: Five people were injured from bullet shrapnel shot by a group of around 15 armed bandits that looted goods worth Rs. 1 million at around 11:30 PM yesterday night, according to the District Police Office.


The robbers had broken into the house of Arjun Bhujel of Sitapur Bahanga municipality-6 to steal goods, including gold, silver, smart phones and Rs. 30,000 in cash. The injured include Arjun, his wife, Anju and sons, Dipendra, Amit and Suman Budathoki. The sons were beaten by the robbers and stabbed by khukuri. All of those injured are undergoing treatment at Shuva Swastik Hospital, Bardibas.

The robbers had carried Improvised Explosive Device, rods, khukuris and arms to rob the house. As soon as they barged into the house, the bandits fired shots and started to rob the house.  


The robbers started to fire blind shots and beat the wife and her sons after Arjun tried to shoo the bandits away. Police have recovered three bullet shells from the crime scene.


Police have intensified their search to catch the culprit, according to SP Ishwar Karki of District Police Office.
