Ban urges political parties to arrive at consensus soon

KATHMANDU, Dec 15: United Nations Secretary General Ban ki Moon on Saturday expressed his deep concern over the continuing political deadlock in Nepal.



Issuing a press statement, Ban also urged the political parties to set aside differences in the interest of the nation and form a national consensus government without further delay.



The Secretary-General has also further urged all actors in Nepal to reaffirm their commitment to the Comprehensive Peace Agreements and to safeguard the achievements of the past in line with the aspirations of the people.



In the statement, he also urged the main stakeholders to create a conducive environment for the next elections.
