But the Bodhi Shrawan Dharma Sangh, an association of the followers of Bamjan, has not yet freed another detainee, a Nepali woman called Aani, who hails from Sindhupalchowk district. [break]Both the women were kept under forceful detention by the association alleging them of trying to distract Bamjan from mediation.
The association freed the 35-year-old foreigner as soon as they learnt about the reports in media regarding the detainees. Marichi, the Slovak woman, was freed from a hotel in Simara at around 9 pm. The association has, however, kept mum about Aani.
Marichi, who has a broken hand and looked pale and weak, refused to speak about the matter. Saying that she had promised to keep mum on the issue, she requested the media persons not to disturb her. Meanwhile, the association members claimed that she broke her hand after falling off a tree while trying to peep at the activities of Bamjan.
According to Assistant Inspector of Simara area police Padam Bahadur Khadka, the police is still investigating the case. “Marichi´s visa has already expired and we have sought department of immigration´s help regarding this,” he said.
Marichi had come from Slovakia in May of 2010 to pay a visit to Bamjan. She had gone missing since December 28, 2012.
