Balkot murder case: 81-year-old Khadananda performs last rites of son and grandson

KATHMANDU, Dec 25: The last rites of Kul Prasad Acharya and his son Prabin, who were tragically murdered in Balkot, Bhaktapur, have been completed. The rituals were conducted according to Hindu customs on Tuesday night.


Kul Prasad's 81-year-old father, Khadananda Acharya, performed the final rites, lighting the funeral pyres for his son and grandson.

Kul Prasad Acharya, aged 56, from Khotang, and his 22-year-old son Prabin were found murdered on Monday morning in their house in Balkot, Suryabinayak Municipality-2, Bhaktapur. The killings were committed by Kul Prasad’s eldest son, Milan, who fled the scene but was arrested by police on Tuesday. In his confession, Milan admitted to the murders of his father and brother.
