Bahrain prince and his team successfully scale Sagarmatha

This is the first international team to conquer the newly announced altitude of 8848.86m of Mt Sagarmatha. 


KATHMANDU, May 11: The team of Bahrain Royal Guard, including prince Shaikh Mohammed Hamad Mohammed Al Khalifa successfully scaled the Mount Sagarmatha (8848.86 meter) today.

According to Mira Acharya, director at the Department of Tourism (DoT), the team successfully climbed Sagarmatha between 5:30 AM and 6:40 AM (local time) on Tuesday. This is the first international team to conquer the newly-announced altitude of 8848.86m of Mt Sagarmatha. 


The team formed by His Highness Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad AI Khalifa had arrived in Nepal on March 15 to ascend the mountain. The team formerly scaled Mt Manaslu and Mt Lobuche in October, 2020.
