As per the cabinet decision, MoTCA on Monday notified the NAC management that Shiva Sharan Neupane and Binod Kumar Chongbang have been removed from the NAC Board.[break]
Neupane and Chongbang were nominated to the NAC Board from the private sector.
Ranjan Krishna Aryal, joint-secretary at MoTCA and a board member of NAC, said the duo has been removed from the board as the number of members in the seven-member board increased to eight with the reinstatement of K B Limbu as the managing director of NAC by the Supreme Court.
The government had removed Limbu from the post, charging him of involving in irregularities and having differences with then chairman Sugat Ratna Kansakar. The ministry had appointed a new member in the board immediately after relieving Limbu of his duties.
As per the NAC Act, the NAC Board can have a maximum of seven members.
“The reshuffled board now has six members. We don´t know whether or not the government will appoint a new board member,” Aryal added.
