Australian embassy's scholarship scheme

KATHMANDU, July 31: The Australian Embassy in Kathmandu has announced "Vice Chancellor Meritorious Scholarship" for deserving students from Nepal on Friday.

Under the scholarship scheme, two Nepali students, one undergraduate and another post graduate, would be provided 50 percent scholarship to study in Australia.Australian Ambassador to Nepal Glenn White said Australia is home to some of the best universities in the world. "As a study destination, Australia is the 3rd most popular destination in the world. I appreciate the efforts and initiatives undertaken by Australian Universities to engage with Nepal," he mentioned.

While discussing Deakin University's vision for engagement with Nepal, the University's Regional Director for South Asia, Ravneet Pawha said the university strongly believes in quality education as the best means toward a better future for the youth.

Deakin University will be announcing the criteria for scholarship applications shortly. Global Reach, Nepal will be supporting Deakin University and will be providing assistance to the scholarship winner for Student Visa lodgement and other related formalities, red the statement issued by the embassy.

Established in 1974, Deakin is one of Australia's largest universities with more than 50,000 students in four Victorian campuses across Melbourne, Geelong and Warrnambool.
