DADELDHURA, May 23: At least seven people were killed and 41 injured when a bus skidded off the road some 200 meters down at Gokuleshwor-6 Nakatada in Darchula district on Thursday morning.
According to Kuber Kadayat, Darchula police chief, the deceased have been identified as Nara Singh Dhami of Kharkda-8, Darchula, Motiram Bhatta, Mathura Bhatta and Mahadev Bhatta of Baluwakot, India and Gopal Singh Khatri, Karan Saud (driver) and Krishna Dev Bhatta (bus owner) of Samaul-3, Darchula district. The injured are being treated at local heath post.[break]
Kadayat said that the main reason behind the accident was steepness and turnings in the road.
The Ill-fated bus (Na 4 Kha 8285) was on its way to Khalanga of Darchula from Mahedranagar, Kanchanpur district while incident occurred.
