Astro meet begins

KATHMANDU, May 18: A nine-day seminar on astrology started here on Monday.



Some 60 students and teachers are participating in the seminar organized by the BP Koirala Memorial Planetarium and Observatory and Science Museum as part of the International Astrology Year 2009 celebration.



Inaugurating the seminar, Minister for Science and Technology Ganesh Shah urged the participants to help lead the peace process to a logical end and write the new constitution on time from their capacity.



He said the ministry had introduced new programs for the development of science and technology.



Secretary at the ministry Umesh Mainali, executive director of the organizing committee Shree Harsha Koirala and deputy executive director Sanat Kumar Sharma said the telescope set up by the committee at Nagarkot had been contributing to the development of astrology in Nepal.
