BAITADI, Feb 10: A person was killed and two others sustained serious injuries in a truck accident in Baitadi yesterday.
The deceased has been identified as truck's assistant driver Kishor Singh Airi, 19, of Srikot – 3, Inspector Kamal Bista of District Police Office, Baitadi told the National News Agency (RSS).
Airi was being rushed to Dhangadi for treatment when he succumbed on the way at Satbhanj area of Baitadi. His body has been taken to District Hospital, Baitadi for post-mortem examination.
Driver killed in truck mishap
In the mishap, truck driver, Mohan Raj Joshi of estimated 24 years of age and Sagar Chand, 21, of Srikot – 4 were seriously injured. Mohan has injuries to his eyes, forehead and chest while Sagar sustained injuries to his head, eyes and legs.
The ill-fated truck (Na 3 Kha 5723) fell 20 meters below the road into a river at 7 pm at Chamatdi of Sittadh – 2 along the Punjyunaya Satbhanj route under the Mahakali highway. The causes leading to the accident have not been ascertained yet. RSS
