Initiated by Human Values for Peace and Prosperity (HVPP) with the aim to inspire youth, Asha – The Extracted Hope invites achievers from various walks of life to share their ideas, innovations and experiences. The idea is instigated with a hope to bring about revolutionary change in potential sectors such as politics, spirituality, sports and arts, agriculture and entrepreneurship. In their very first edition held on Saturday, team Asha interviewed Kesab Rai, the owner of a 'Panipuri' and 'Alunimki' stall in Nakhipot, Lalitpur. Rai is an exemplary entrepreneur as he earns Rs 90,000 to Rs 100,000 per month, in a nation with a per capita income of a mere USD 426. In the hour long session, he discussed his struggles, ideas, experiences and success. "I credit my success not only to my hard work or the taste of food I serve, but also to my hospitality towards the customers, which is integral for such a business to prosper," he said, while also announcing his plans to extend his stalls outside the Kathmandu Valley.
Swastik Pandey, the spokesperson of Asha, said, "The main agenda is to inspire Nepali youth to initiate ideas in their own country. The path may be difficult, but so much can be achieved here itself. This is our endeavor to make the path easier."
According to the organizers, the program will be held every month. The next one is scheduled to be in the second week of August. "We're overwhelmed with the kind of response we received in the very first edition. We are working hard to make the future program even better with more inspiring achievers," they said.
