Around 66,000 die every year due to lack of health care in Nepal

A study has shown that it is not just the lack of access to healthcare services, but the lack of quality healthcare services that leads to deaths.

KATHMANDU, Dec 12: In Nepal, as many as 66,000 people die every year due to the lack of quality healthcare. 


On the occasion of ‘Universal Health Coverage (UHC) Day,’ on Thursday, Achyut Raj Pandey of Nepal Health Economics Association said that around 66,000 people lose their lives due to the lack of healthcare in Nepal every year.

Pandey provided this information during his presentation at the event. A study has shown that it is not just the lack of access to healthcare services, but the lack of quality healthcare services that leads to deaths. 


According to statistics, 19,000 people die every year due to the lack of access to healthcare services.
