The deceased has been identified as Man Bahadur Begha, 28, of Phajeja VDC in Panchthar district.Begha was Lance Corporal at Lele-based Shree Narsingh Battalion of the Nepal Army.
The accident took place when a motorcycle (Ba 20 Pa 3536) driven by Begha collided with a truck (Ba 1 Kha 6968) while he was trying to save two women who were crossing the road. Begha was headed towards Ekantakuna of Lalitpur district, according to the Metropolitan Traffic Police Circle, Satdobato. [break]
Begha died while undergoing treatment at Gwarko-based B and B Hospital, In charge of the Circle, Sub-Inspector Bejung Karki said.
The truck and the truck driver Durlav Sawad of Bungmati VDC-9 in Lalitpur have been handed over to Metropolitan Traffic Police Range, Jawalakhel for necessary action, said Karki.
