Army integration to begin in a few days: PM

KATHMANDU, Feb 19: Prime Minister Dr Baburam Bhattarai said on Sunday homework is ongoing to move ahead the stalled integration of Maoist combatants in national army in a few days.



Speaking at a program organized in the capital to mark the 51st anniversary of Rastriya Samachar Samiti, the state owned news agency, PM Bhattarai said important tasks related to the peace process and constitution writing were successfully carried out during his nearly five-month tenure and urged co-operation from stakeholders, including political parties, civil society, students and the media, for promulgation of the new constitution by May 28. PM Bhattarai also stressed on early conclusion of the more important tasks of peace and constitution so that the nation could head for economic revolution and asked media persons to fight anomalies and irregularities in the society to ensure people´s enhanced living standards through rapid socio-economic transformation.



On the occasion, the PM reaffirmed his commitment for protecting rights of  journalists and urged them to focus on disseminating factual information, sticking to their professional ethics.
