Army honors players, coaches

KATHMANDU, July 22: Nepal Army on Friday honored seven players and five coaches, who are set to take part in the Rio Olympics, with Rs 25,000 each during a program held in the capital.

KATHMANDU, July 22: Nepal Army on Friday honored seven players and five coaches, who are set to take part in the Rio Olympics, with Rs 25,000 each during a program held in the capital.



Athletes Hari Kumar Rimal and Saraswati Bhattrai, swimmers Sirish Gurung and Gaurika Singh, judoka Phupu Lhamu Khatri, taekwondo player Nisha Rawal and archer Jit Bahadur Moktan are the players who will represent Nepal in the Rio Olympics to be held in Brazil from August 5 to 21.



Athletics coach Pushpa Raj Ojha, swimming coach Ishwar Karki, taekwondo coach Sangina Baidya, archery coach Deepak Raj Gurung and judo coach Debu Thapa will also travel to Brazil.



Chief of Army Staff General Rajendra Chhetri honored the players and coaches.
