KATHMANDU, Jan 17: Tribhuvan Army Club and Himalayan Cricket Academy (HCA) on Sunday entered the semifinals of the First National Inter-club Youth Cricket Championship being held in the capital. Army recorded 59-run victory over KCTC and Himalayan beat Macchapuchhre Cricket Club by 29 runs in the quarterfinals played at the Tribhuvan University Ground, Kirtipur.

Winning the toss and opting to bat first, Army posted 163/6 in allotted 20 overs with Sharad Vesawkar remaining not out on 38 runs off 18 balls while Rajesh Pulami added 29 runs from 15 balls. In reply, KCTC managed 104/7 as Sudhir Maharjan top scored 22 runs facing 19 balls. In another match, Himalayan posted 151/3 after Bhupendra Thapa scored 64 runs playing only 49 balls. In reply, Macchapuchhre scored only 122/6, despite skipper Deepesh Khatri remaining not out on 59 runs off 54 balls.
