Sanjib Sharma, vice-president of the company, said the group decided to venture into GI pipe manufacturing considering growing demand for the product in both Nepal and India. “Furniture and construction sectors are our potential buyers,” said Sharma.

Aarti Strips has already procured necessary machines and equipment for the project. It targets to produce 20,000 tons of GI pipes in a year with radius ranging from a half to two and a half inch radius. The company, which is currently employing 550 workers, is preparing to recruit 100 more workers for the new production unit.
The Indian multinational started manufacturing color sheets about four months ago. It has installed capacity of producing 40,000 tons of corrugated sheets annually. The group has already invested Rs 1.2 billion in Nepal.
The Chandigard-based Bhusan Power and Steel Ltd had established Arati Strips in Nepal some 12 years ago.
