Deputy Inspector General of the Armed Police Force (APF) Kamal Basnet confirmed the seizure by a patrol team of the APF recently but declined to give details.[break]
But Deputy Superintendent of APF at the Dudejhari Post, Jagat Narayan Shrestha, said the patrol has uncovered 24 magazines and two cartridges of LMG, a magazine of SLR along with 860 bullets, five magazines and 106 bullets of INSAS rifle. The APF team was acting on a tip-off.
The APF has remained tightlipped on the details of the uncovered ammunitions leaving many to suspect that the ammunitions might have been hidden by the Maoists during the conflict or after they joined the peace process in November 2006.
