APF annouces Rs 400m relief packages for staff

KATHMANDU, May 17: In order to support rehabilitation and reconstruction of the residences of its staff, Armed Police Force (APF) on Sunday announced a relief packages worth Rs 400 million.

According to a press statement issued by APF, Rs 300 million cash will be distributed to affected staff while Rs 200 million will be deposited in a disaster relief trust. Apart from this, APF has also announced to provide loan of Rs 250,000 to Rs 600,000 to be distributed on equitable ration, provide insurance, lending amount equivalent to one month, according to DSP Ajay Chhakuli of APF.

The relief packages also includes scholarship till Grade XII for one child of a deceased APF staff, provide technical support to staff on constructing earthquake resistant houses, long holidays and award staff who perform well during rescue and relief operations, among others.
