A Division Bench of Justices Ishwar Prasad Khatiwada and Kumar Regmi scrapped the interim order not to scrap Gurung’s candidacy issued earlier by the apex court. The apex court has maintained that Gurung is disqualified to be candidate as he is on the blacklist of Credit Information Bureau of Nepal, a government body.

Analysts say the decision of the apex court is likely to make easy for CPN-UML candidate for the HoR member Bishnu Poudel easy to secure victory from Rupandehi-2 in the upcoming election.
