KATHMANDU, Oct 8: Another complaint has been lodged against Balen Shah, Mayor of Kathmandu Metropolitan City, and Sudan Gurung, founder of Hamro Nepal, calling for a treason investigation.
The complaint, filed by Yuvraj Paudel ‘Safal’ through postal mail on Wednesday, has reached the Kathmandu District Police Office, police sources confirmed. It invokes Section 50(1) of the Criminal Code 2074, which defines the offense of treason, and demands an investigation under this legal provision.

This is the second such complaint within a day. On Tuesday, a group led by former ANNFSU president Samik Badal, affiliated with the student wing of CPN-UML, had also filed a similar complaint against the two.
Police, however, have yet to officially register either complaint. Authorities informed the ANNFSU group that a decision would be made within 24 hours after consultation with the government attorney.
Paudel said he expects his complaint, sent by post, to be registered by Thursday. Sources said police are preparing to forward both complaints to the high-level probe commission led by former Justice Gauri Bahadur Karki, which was formed to investigate incidents related to the Gen-Z movement.
