Comic-Con International: San Diego is the largest convention held in San Diego. In the convention, comic book based movie trailers are released, there are meet and greet programs with on-screen personas, and authors of comic books.
Bringing the joys of Comic-Con to the Himalayan nation, Comic-Con Nepal organized a meeting of enthusiasts last year. Abhinav Shrestha, Director of Comic-Con Nepal, said that there weren’t many platforms for comic fans to meet.
Ever rising fandom for Cosplay
“Though the majority of youths are obsessed with the superheroes and anime characters, conventions were literally unheard of in Nepal. After learning about the comic con in America, I, along with my colleagues, decided to organize a meeting of fans. This year, it’ll take place on September 15 at Bhrikuti Mandap Garden,” he stated.
“This time, there will be more than 30 exhibitors. Visitors can meet comic creators from across the globe, and also participate in panel discussions which will include artists and writers. There will also be a cosplay contest, and comic screening in the multiple stages,” Abhinav added.
