Nawalparasi Chairman of ANNISU-Revolutionary, Ashok Gyawali, said that they closed all the private schools in the district, as the agreement reached among the District Education Office, Private and Boarding Schools Organisation Nepal (PABSON), students and stakeholders was not implemented.
ANNISU-Revolutionary launched agitation demanding action against 60 private schools running illegally in the district and the District Education Office on May 2 had reached an agreement with stakeholders including ANNISU-Revolutionary to close such schools.
It alleged the Education Office of not paying any heed to implement the agreement. The Education office, however, said that it has started the process to take action against such schools.
Nawalparasi Chairman of PABSON, Bhimlal Adhikari, said that it was wrong to close private schools running as per the policy, in the name of demanding action against the illegal private schools.Around 35,000 students have been affected due to the closure of all private schools in the district.
