KATHMANDU, Jan 22: Anirvan Ghosh Dastidar has been appointed as the new Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Standard Chartered Bank Nepal Ltd (SCBNL).
Issuing a statement on Monday, the bank said that Dastidar has been appointed as the Director and new CEO of the bank subject to regulatory approval.

A senior banker with over 25 years of experience, Dastidar has held a variety of senior positions in the bank, including CEO in Sri Lanka and CEO in Philippines. His extensive experience spans risk and corporate governance and both wholesale and retail banking, according to the statement.
He was serving as the CEO and Head of Retail Banking in Brunei prior to his Nepal assignment, the statement added.
Meanwhile, the 32nd Annual General Meeting (AGM) of the bank held on Monday has approved a proposal of the board to distribute 17.5 percent cash dividend to its shareholders for the financial year that ended July 16, 2018.
"We are now well positioned to drive sustainable profit growth. We remain focused on improving our service to our clients, generating strong returns for our investors, and contributing even more to the communities in which we operate," the statement quoted Jitender Arora, Chairman of the Bank, as saying.
"We remain committed in Nepal's economic growth by supporting our clients and customers in various ways."
