From crude sketches to immaculate art, animated features are more spectacular and immaculate than ever. It can make grown men weep, theologians contemplate, and children shiver for nights. Here are some of the best that have been conjured by the prolific lunatics of the cinematic world.
Princess Mononoke

The Japanese counterpart of Pixar, Studio Ghibli produces this visual extravaganza for people of all ages. The story revolves around a boy caught between the war of the forest worlds and his adventure amidst the chaos. Miyazaki fuses a fairytale with technology in the most spectacular ways.
Akira

It is poetic grotesquery at its best. This cult classic is set in a post-apocalyptic Japan where lawlessness engulfs, and the government uses humans for guinea pigs. It has some of the unusual scripts, and scenes unfold with subtle shocks. It is considered to be the reason behind the birth of the hit anime series like Naruto.
South Park: Bigger, longer and uncut

With its crude animations and cruder contents; this movie is the worst nightmare of any parents. Non-stop swearing, sarcasm, and a song about a pervert uncle, it overdoses one with laughter and sardonic insights into the society. And, yes, Kenny dies again in an ingenious elegance.
The Triplets of Belleville (Belleville Rendez-Vous)

A Portuguese granny leaves with her three aged friends to rescue her grandson who has been kidnapped during the Tour de France. In a slapdash and sleek animation style, the movie is profoundly ludicrous and cleverly directed.
Ice Age

A solitary mammoth, a sensitive simlodon, an irritating sloth, and the most affable sabre-toothed squirrel are one of the best casts in an animated series of all time. Ice Age combines humor and successfully delivers all the moralities without overwhelming the audiences. With Scratt getting a girlfriend in the third installation, Dawn of the Dinosaurs is one the most awaited movies of this year.
Monster’s, Inc.

Monsters were never so sweet, and Pixar proves why it is the number one when it comes to animation. When a group of monsters who make a living by scaring human children finally find their match in the form of a sweet little kid named Boo, then the result is hilarious, sugary and beautiful.
Finding Nemo

This movie proved the prowess of Pixar and introduced an unforgettable clownfish to the world. With spectacular artwork and breathtaking animation, Finding Nemo is one of the few animated movies that can appeal to people of any age.
The Nightmare before Christmas

Tim Burton is psychotically brilliant, and when he uses his ludicrous luminosity to direct animated features, the result is nothing less than imperialistic. With stop-animation, he unfolds an intricate script with flawless magnificence.
Lady and the Tramp

This is a classic from Disney. A stray mutt falls in love with a pedigree Cocker Spaniel. She is named Lady by her affluent owners, and he is simply a Tramp. A princess and stable boy tale told via the tails is subtly sweet and strangely relatable.
Wall E

If you think that the relationship between Cary Grant and Deborah Kerr in An Affair to Remember is unmatchable, then these two robots will give you a bolt from the blue. The sublime love affair between a Waste Allocation Load Lifter Earth-Class (Wall E) and an Extraterrestrial Vegetation Evaluator (EVE) is more poignantly romantic than most of the films released in this decade, animated or not.
