ANFA picked the 18 players out of the 25 who were undergoing a closed camp training in Jhapa.[break]
Renuka Nagarkoti, Bal Kumari Magar and Chandra Devi Dahal are the new faces in the team while the rest 15 players were part of the team that won silver medal in the 11th South Asian Games (SAG).
Jamuna Gurung, Anu Lama, Bhagawati Thapa, Tulasa Singh, Laxmi Paudel, Sajan Ranamagar, Deepa Adhikari and Pramila Rai are included in the team. Likewise, Mira Maharjan, Deepa Chhetri, Chandra Bhandari, Namita Dali, Niru Thapa, Ranjana Darji and Usha Bhandari complete the 18-member Nepali squad. Dali and Dahal are the two goalkeepers in the team.
SAG-experienced Asmita Khawas, Nirsha Dewan and Binita Shrestha are excluded from the squad this time round while injured Manamaya Magar and Sapana Lama did not join the initial training camp.
South Asian Football Federation (SAFF) is organizing the women´s championship for the first time in Cox´s Bazar, Bangladesh from December 12. Nepal is pitted alongside Pakistan, Afghanistan and Maldives in the group ´B´ of the tournament, in which all eight South Asian countries are slated to participate.
Coaches Dhruba KC and Kumar Katuwal are supervising the team. ANFA has been running the closed camp in Jhapa instead of Kathmandu since the first week of November to acclimatize the players to the environment of Bangladesh.
