Amber Gurung, Chancellor of Nepal Sangeet Natya Academy, inaugurated the event where President Dr Ram Baran Yadav was also present as chief guest.
Dr Mansingh, 69, addressed the Hindu myth of Dashavatara in the Odissi dance performance and exhibited very strong grace and energy that reverberated through the hall.
The performance started with a Kuchipudi dance performance on Ganesh Vandana by Minu Thakur, and the troupe entertained the audience with Kuchipudi, Manipuri and Odissi dance forms as well.
Sanjeev Bhattacharya, the renowned Indian dancer of the Manipuri dance style, enthralled the audience with Manipuri dance performance.
In Nepal for the second time, Dr Mansingh stated, “When people talk about India, the first things that come to their mind are Bollywood and cricket but the traditions of classical dances there are also incredible.”
