Amnesty International Nepal report made public

KATHMANDU, May 24: The annual report of the Amnesty International Nepal has been made public on the occasion of the 51 st founding day of the Amnesty International.



Amnesty Chairman Hem Kumar Khadka made the report public at a function Thursday. [break]



The report based on 2011 events states that death penalty has been eliminated for all crimes in 141 countries including Nepal.



Likewise, citizens in 101 countries including Nepal were misbehaved for opposing governments and freedom of expression was banned in 91 countries including Nepal.



The report states that thousands of people were given death penalty in China but the number was not made public and death penalty was imposed in Iran, Saudi Arabia, North Korea and Somalia.
