The player of the year award is a part of the Rs 10-million deal between ANFA and Ncell to sponsor five different events.
Besides this, ANFA has been rewarding best player of the A division league with an apartment, one motorbike each to best players in four different positions and best coach in the league and motorbike to the winner of Rupak Memorial Award.
ANFA President Ganesh Thapa said, "We are in talks with companies regarding the car and it won´t be a luxury car."

ANFA has set three different criteria for the selection of best player -- through SMS voting, evaluation from NIS, A, B and C license holder football coaches and sports journalists. SMS voting will carry 60 percent of the total points, while votes from coaches and sports journalists will carry 20 percent points each. SMS voting will only be allowed via Ncell numbers.
About 100 coaches hold the A, B, C license and NIS certificates. Similarly, one sports journalist each from national dailies, televisions, radios, and weekly newspapers will be given voting rights.
The SMS voting will open from March 11 until the midnight of April 9.
The national team comprises of highest seven players from league leader Three Star Club, followed by five from Nepal Police Club. Similarly, four players are from Friends, three from Nepal Army and one each from Madhyapur, PSPS Pekanbaru (Indonesia), APF and RCT.
