Considered one of the most coveted awards in the Nepali music industry, the evening announced Albatross and Narendra Pyasi, bagging three awards each, as the big winners. [break]
Albatross won the Best Performance by a Group or Duo with Vocal, Best Rock Composition and Best Rock Vocal Performance for their hit Chaina from their latest album Atti Bhayo.
Narendra Pyasi won an award for his duo with Anju Panta, Jaam Kyare, Best Vocal Performance and Record of the Year for Maya o Maya.

“I feel like a cricket player with a hat-trick to my name,” says Avaya Siddhi Bajracharya of the Albatross.
“I feel wonderful and I know it’s because of my fans so this is the time that I want to send out a hearty thanks to my fans. You brought Albatross back together and you’re the inspiration that fuels us,” he added.
The evening was a wonderful experience for both nominees and music-lovers alike, with magical performances by Divya Subba and the Blue Acids, 1974 AD, Rajesh Payal Rai, Nhyoo Bajracharya and a collaboration of 1974 AD with Sabani Moktan.
A special tribute was awarded to timeless musician, Pandav Sunwar for his contributions to the Nepali music industry.
The life-time achievement award this year was given to poet and lyricist Chetra Pratap Adhikari, the lyricist of the famous song Mata Lali Gurash Bhayechu, crooned by late Narayna Gopal among many other songs.

“This gives me inspiration to live some more and write some more,” he said while accepting the award.
“This is the first song from my first album and getting recognized like this with an award makes me feel wonderful this evening,” said Best New Artist award winner, Seema Sangraula. “I would really like to thank the composer of K Nai Runuchha, Kali Prasad Baskota,” she added.
The highlight of the evening, however, was famous folk singer Komal Oli staying true to her humorous self declaring her love for Biraj Khadka, the emcee for the evening.
“Stand close to me Biraj,” she said and went on to say “he is a shy boy.”
