Air Dynasty chopper that crashed in Nuwakot was carrying Chinese tourists (Update)

KATHMANDU, Aug 7: An Air Dynasty helicopter (registration 9N-AJD) that crashed at Surya Chaur-7, Nuwakot district, was carrying four Chinese tourists, besides the captain.

KATHMANDU, Aug 7: An Air Dynasty helicopter (registration 9N-AJD) that crashed at Surya Chaur-7, Nuwakot district, was carrying four Chinese tourists, besides the captain.


Nuwakot SP Shantiraj Koirala reported that locals alerted the police after spotting smoke on the hill. Balkrishna Pandit, manager of Air Dynasty, confirmed that the helicopter was reported missing. The flight was scheduled to transport four Chinese tourists from Kathmandu to Syafru Besi.

The helicopter, piloted by Captain Arun Malla, took off from Kathmandu at 1:54 PM, according to Tribhuvan International Airport Spokesperson Subas Jha. The helicopter was en route to Syafru Besi with the Chinese tourists on board when the crash occurred.
