KATHMANDU: All the seven bodies of those killed in the Air Dynasty chopper crash in Taplejung district have been retrieved.
“All the seven bodies of the deceased have been recovered from the accident site,” said Ram Krishna Subedi, spokesperson of the Home Ministry.
A total of three helicopters have reached the crash site for rescue. According to Subedi, it will take around two hours to bring the bodies to the helipad.
The ill-fated helicopter crashed at Tarebhir one kilometer east of Pathibhara in Taplejung district while it was flying back to Chuhandana of Tehrathum district after offering pooja at Pathibhara temple.
Meanwhile, a separate team including from Nepal Army has been deployed to the accident.
All the seven people including Minister for Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation aboard the Air Dynasty chopper died when it crashed at 1:30 pm today.
Yubaraj Dahal, Ang Tshiring Sherpa, Birendra Shrestha and Prime Minister’s personal secretary Arjun Ghimire, Birendra Bhochibhaiya and pilot Prabhakar KC have been identified as those killed in the ill-fated helicopter.
A six-member team comprising Minister Adhikari had taken the helicopter flight from Kathmandu at 8 am today towards Chuhandanda of Tehrathum for carrying out a feasibility study of the proposed airport at Chuhandanda.
