KATHMANDU, April 1: Agitating medicine students at Tribhuvan University Teaching Hospital (TUTH) have quizzed senior CPN-UML leader Madhav Kumar Nepal over the party's position on the demands made by Prof Dr Gobinda KC.

Supporters of Prof Dr KC, who is on a fast-onto-death for the last 11 days, had asked Nepal about UML's position on the demands put forth by Dr KC. Nepal had reached ENT Unit of TUTH to inquire about the health condition of one his close relatives.

Nepal said it would not be acceptable to the UML if the protest is directed against UML's late leader Manmohan Adhikari. "I have my support to the demands of Dr KC. But why are students directing their protest against Manmohan Adhikari?" Nepal had asked.

Nepal had also said that although he believes that no new medical college should get affiliation unless they meet the necessary conditions, including basic infrastructures, it would not be acceptable to the UML if the protest is directed against their founding leader Adhikari.

The agitating students had gheraoed leader Nepal for about 20 minutes and alleged that UML leadership was bent on opening new medical colleges without meeting the necessary conditions. The agitating students had then chanted strong slogans against Nepal and another UML leader Rajendra Pandey. UML has taken strong exception to the misbehavior meted out to leader Nepal.
