KATHMANDU, Nov 12: Various student unions that have launched protests against the recent hike in the prices of petroleum products have picketed the central office of Nepal Oil Corporation (NOC) in Kathmandu on Friday.
Students affiliated with the agitating students’ unions gathered in front of the main gate of the NOC at 10 am demanding the government to immediately withdraw the decision to hike fuel prices.

Stating that the decision will adversely affect students and ordinary people, top leaders of various students unions have demanded the resignation of NOC Executive Director Surendra Poudel and other corrupt employees. The agitating students also chanted slogans against the NOC’s top management, its corrupt employees, and the government.
The student unions have warned of publicly boycotting the corrupt employees of NOC. They have also urged Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba, CPN (Maoist Center) Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal, CPN (Unified Socialist) Chairman Madhav Kumar Nepal, and leaders of the coalition government to withdraw the decision to hike fuel prices.
