The Baidya-led alliance and FDFN staged a rally in the capital on Friday.
“We demand to immediate withdrawal of the government"s decision to hold CA polls on November 19. The move is undemocratic and reactionary,” reads a joint statement issued by the Baidya-led alliance and Parshu Ram Tamang of FDFN. They also demanded a new political solution based on consensus between all the political forces.
On Thursday, Baidya-led alliance, Upendra Yadav-led Federal Democratic Forum (FDF) and Ashok Rai-led Federal Socialist Party had announced to jointly launch protests if the government paid no heed to their demands.
They also accused the government of announcing election date without showing any positive gesture for talks with the disgruntled parties. They also warned that the government would be held responsible for the consequences if the election is held without addressing their concerns.
The agitating parties have been demanding rollback of the 25-point recommendation of the four major parties on removing constitutional difficulties.
Similarly, the Federal Democratic National Forum affiliated to Federal Limbuwan State Council led by Kumar Linden has also warned of forming a retaliatory force against the government saying the unilateral announcement of polls date by the government is undemocratic and unconstitutional.
