PARBAT, Nov 8: Women in Parbat district have proved that age limit cannot be barrier for learning.

The women involved in two different women groups – Parbati women group and Patichaur women group -- at Patichaur of Bajung VDC-1 in the district have joined the classes run by the groups as per literacy campaign.[break]

The women, who used to be busy just in the kitchen and farm, joined the classes and get ideas for general calculation, write and read letters, said 52-year-old Mina BK.

The adults and old women would go to take the classes for three hours daily run by Heifer International and a local NGO (SEED) and grew confidence to read and write.

Besides reading and writing they have been encouraged to participate in social activities. They also earned tens of thousands million through group goat farming.
